Round Robin Generator - Schedule + Live Standings Table

Generate a complete round robin schedule. Every team faces every other team once. Live standings update as you enter scores. Best for small-to-medium fields where every result should count.

Round robin, in short: every team plays every other team once, so a field of N teams plays N(N-1)/2 matches total - 6 matches for 4 teams, 15 for 6, 28 for 8. It runs N-1 rounds when N is even, or N rounds when N is odd (one team byes each round). No eliminations; final placing is by total points. Enter your teams below to generate and share the full schedule instantly, no signup.

Standard 6-Team Round Robin Schedule

A 6-team round robin runs 5 rounds of 3 matches (15 matches total), generated with the circle method: fix one team and rotate the rest so every pair meets exactly once and no team plays twice in a round.

RoundMatches (team numbers)
11 v 62 v 53 v 4
21 v 56 v 42 v 3
31 v 45 v 36 v 2
41 v 34 v 25 v 6
51 v 23 v 64 v 5

Every team plays all 5 others exactly once. For an odd field, add a phantom "bye" entry and the team drawn against it sits that round out. Enter your own team names below for a schedule of any size from 3 to 128.

Standard 8-Team Round Robin Schedule

An 8-team round robin runs 7 rounds of 4 matches (28 matches total). Because 8 is even, no team ever sits out. The circle method below fixes team 1 and rotates the rest, so every pair meets exactly once.

RoundMatches (team numbers)
11 v 82 v 73 v 64 v 5
21 v 76 v 82 v 53 v 4
31 v 65 v 74 v 82 v 3
41 v 54 v 63 v 72 v 8
51 v 43 v 52 v 67 v 8
61 v 32 v 45 v 86 v 7
71 v 23 v 84 v 75 v 6

Each of the 8 teams plays all 7 others exactly once across the 7 rounds. Swap in your own team names below and the generator produces the same balanced schedule for any size from 3 to 128, plus a live standings table.

FAQ

How many matches in a round robin tournament?
Total matches = N(N-1)/2. A 4-team round robin has 6 matches. A 6-team round robin has 15 matches. An 8-team round robin has 28 matches. Each match is played once between each pair of teams.
How many rounds in a round robin?
For an even number of teams, rounds = N-1. A 6-team round robin takes 5 rounds. For odd teams, rounds = N (one team sits out each round). A 5-team round robin takes 5 rounds. This generator uses the circle method to produce the most balanced schedule.
How does an 8-team round robin schedule work?
An 8-team round robin has 28 matches over 7 rounds of 4 matches each, and because 8 is even no team ever sits out. Using the circle method, Round 1 is 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5, then the field rotates each round until every team has faced all 7 others once by Round 7 (1v2, 3v8, 4v7, 5v6). The full round-by-round table is shown above.
What is snake seeding in round robin?
Snake seeding assigns schedule slots in a serpentine pattern to balance travel and rest time. For example, in a 4-team round robin seeded 1-4: Round 1 is 1v4 and 2v3; Round 2 is 1v3 and 2v4; Round 3 is 1v2 and 3v4. This balances who faces strong opponents early vs. late.
