Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a tournament bracket?
Choose your format (single elimination, double elimination, round robin, or Swiss), enter the number of teams, paste in team names, and click Generate Bracket. Your bracket appears immediately with no signup required. Click any match to enter scores and advance winners automatically.
How many teams can I add?
This tool supports 3 to 128 teams. Non-power-of-two team counts (like 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, etc.) automatically receive byes. The top seeds receive byes, which is the standard tournament convention. A 6-team bracket becomes an 8-slot bracket with 2 byes.
Can I print my bracket?
Yes. Click the Print button. The bracket automatically switches to a light-mode layout optimised for letter and A4 paper in landscape orientation. The navigation, settings panel, and footer are hidden from the print output so the bracket fills the page.
How does the shareable URL work?
The entire bracket state - team names, format, and all scores - is encoded into the URL. No data is stored on any server. Anyone with the link can view your bracket instantly. Bookmark it to return later. The URL updates as you enter match results.
What is a bye in a tournament bracket?
A bye is when a team advances to the next round without playing. Byes occur when the team count is not a power of 2 (4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128). For a 6-team bracket, 2 byes are added to fill the 8-slot bracket. The top-seeded teams receive byes by convention.
Is the bracket tool free with no signup?
Yes. No account, no email, no mailing list. The tool works entirely in your browser. The shareable URL contains the full bracket state so there is nothing stored on our servers.
